see Arizona and to revisit a few landmarks in the area. I won'tgo into great detail but
here are some of the pictures from our trip. First it was off to Las Vegas to see the M & M Factory. Dad loved seeing New York, New York. The M &M Racecar

From there we took the route to Boulder City to see the Hoover Dam. These are the two pumping towers. One is in Nevada and one in Arizona.
After leaving the Dam, were able to tour some of old Route 66. We stayed the night in Kingman, Arizona and ate at their vintage restaurants. We decided to take a detour and see the Grand Canyon. We were able to take the Rim Walk and the views were breathtaking.
We stayed a couple of nights in Flagstaff and loved the area! Then it was off to Phoenix. We were there for the Rembrandt Exhibit at the Phoenix Art Museum. Wonderful!

Mesa, Arizona was our next stop. We were able to attend the Mesa Temple there. So peaceful and very beautiful. This temple has some of the most beautiful hand painted murals inside of Joseph Smith doing missionary work among the American Indian people. The relief carvings around the top of the temple show the many immigrant peoples who migrated to this area of Arizona. I even saw one carving of a woman in wooden shoes. My Grandma Ockey (Van Ausdal) was dutch, so that was interesting to me.

After leaving Mesa, we visiting Grandma and Grandpa Ball in Yuma. We had a very nice time with them. They also took us for a day trip into Mexico. Thank goodness they weren't requiring passports at the time.

Even though we were pretty tired, we had one last adventure we wanted to take. We drove to Palm Springs and took a ride on the Aerial Tramway. It is a 10,000 foot climb and it felt like it, too!
I got altitude sickness afterwards. The only time one of us got ill the whole trip. We ended our vacation staying one night in Monterrey. All in all it was a wonderful trip and we can't wait until our next one.
